We are pleased to announce the exciting news that the third Korean National Symphony International Orchestra Academy 2023 (hereby, KNSO Academy) has been launched.
I would like to ask you to promote the project about Korean National Symphony International Orchestra Academy.
We, Korean National Symphony Orchestra, would like to inform you of our ”Korean National Symphony International Orchestra Academy 2023” to be held from July 1st – July 18th in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Before we go any further, let us introduce our orchestra
: Korean National Symphony Orchestra is the only government-orchestra in the Republic of Korea, that endeavors to fulfill the public’s desire for cultural enjoyment through more than a hundred concerts per year. We also take the lead in fostering future generations of performers, composers, and conductors, the three pillars of any orchestra.

Korean National Symphony International Orchestra Academy, which is the 3rd time to be held this year, is an artistic program to nurture essential skills and a cooperative mind as well as provide a professional performing experience to young, outstanding musicians who dream of becoming orchestra players. It also serves as a pool where talented musicians from all around the world can exchange their cultures.
We would like to ask for your kind cooperation in informing about this Academy to students who major in orchestral instruments or may be interested in participating in this project.

[About applying]
• Applying period : Feb 13rd ~ March 24th (video test)
• Announcing the results of the Final : around mid-April.

[Eligibility]
• Nationality: All nationality (including Korean nationals living abroad)
• Age: Under 34 years (born after Jan 1st, 1989)
• Education background: Undergraduate* or graduate with a Bachelor’s degree (Or higher)
*Undergraduate students should be completed 2 academic years or higher.
• Sections: Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass) / Woodwinds (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon) / Brass (Horn, Trumpet, Trombone) / Percussion

[Schedule]
• Program period : July 1st (Sat) ~ July 20th (Fri), 2023

[Activities and programs]
• Individual mentoring sessions
• Lectures to understand the orchestra
• Orchestra concerts (July 18th, Lotte Concert Hall)
• A physical training for musicians
• Cultural activities (ex: experience the meeting of East and West music, and so on)

[Financial Aid for the final successful candidates]
• Airfare for participants
– from Asia : Max. KRW 600,000
– from outside of Aisa : Max. KRW 1,500,000
• Accommodation fee

[Scholarship]
• KRW 3,000,000 (about EUR 2,200) for the best student.
