Call for competition: International Fürstenau Flute Competition

The International Fürstenau Flute Competition will be held for the first time in Münster, Westphalia, in 2023. The competition is named after the composer, virtuoso and flutist  Anton Bernhard Fürstenau born 1792 in Münster. Flutists between 17 and 30 years of age from all over the world can take part in the competition.

With the IFFC, the GWK and the Münster University of Music in cooperation with the Münster Symphony Orchestra and renowned jurors, want to support highly talented young flutists on their way to an international career.

The winner of the first prize will be awarded  10,000 € and 3 honored chamber concerts. The runner-up receives 7,000 €, and third place 5,000 €.

The competition will take place from September 25-30, 2023 at the Musikhochschule Münster.

Deadline for applications is Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Invitation to the III International Virgilijus Noreika Competition for Singers 2023

 LAST CALL for Singers to apply for the III International Virgilijus Noreika Competition for Singers, which will be held from  26 March to 2 April 2023 in Vilnius, Lithuania.  

The Competition will be held in three stages. The Final Round will take place with Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Leonardo 4 Music 2023 Awards for young music composers

We are pleased to announce that the ”Leonardo 4 Music 2023 Awards” for young composers aged 16-30 are now open until 31 May 2023, in partnership with the Foundation Yehudi Menuhin. Music composers aged 16-30 and enrolled or graduated from a Conservatory or Music school, resident in the EU, can take part in the Awards by creating an original music composition inspired on Climate, Equality or Peace.

The Awards are part of the non-profit initiative Leonardo 4 Children, which has the objective to develop the artistic and scientific skills of children and teenagers, and help them become responsible adults by addressing global issues such as climate, equality and peace.

The winner nr 1 will be offered the opportunity to use her/his music for a promotional campaign by UNICEF and the winner nr 2 for the promotional video of Leonardo 4 Children initiative.
The first 3 winners will receive a talent development budget of € 500 (winner nr 1) / € 300 (winner nr 2 and 3) each to develop their music talent, including a special prize offered in memory of Italian musician “Ermanni Testi”.
Their music will be performed at future Leonardo 4 Children concerts and the award ceremony in prestigious locations such as BOZAR Brussels.

The winners will be selected by end of June 2023 by the Jury, whose members are: Anastasiya Petryshak, Carmine Padula, Stefano Cucci, Erika Zoi, Ayumi Nabata, Gisella Cosi.

Nordic International Piano Competition maj 2021 online

Nordic International Piano Competition (eller på svenska Nordiska pianotävlingen), är en professionell pianotävling som hålls helt online i maj 2021:

Med en lång historia sedan 2002 har Nordiska Pianotävlingen varit den största pianotävlingen för enbart nordiska medborgare och visat upp de finaste unga nordiska konsertpianisterna. I år öppnar istället tävlingen för sökande från hela världen, men med fokus på nordisk musik och speciella priser för nordiska medborgare. 

Det finns fem ålderskategorier att tävla i, och deltagarna i tävlingen kommer att ha chans att vinna någon av flera priser inom varje kategori, liksom pedagogiska eller konsert-möjligheter samt utbyte med övriga deltagare i tävlingen. Varje deltagare i tävlingen mottar ett diplom som intygar att man deltagit Nordic International Piano Competition 2021.

Strax efter Nordiska pianotävlingen 2021, sker också Northern Lights Piano Festival (länk till festivalen här). Festivalen formades med syftet att inspirera pianoelever i alla åldrar och nivåer från hela världen att nå sina musikaliska drömmar. Vårt mål är att främja pianokultur och pedagogiskt utbyte mellan elever och pianolärare över hela världen. Festivalen är utformad såsom en tävling, där alla har en möjlighet att kunna vara med på sin egen nivå. Varje deltagare kommer att få diplom samt en personlig kommentarer från en professionell pianist i juryn. Som deltagare får man vara i med i vårt online-forum där pianister i alla åldrar kan mötas och dela med sig av sina erfarenheter som växande pianist, här kan även pianolärare hitta inspiration från varandra. Till sist finns även möjlighet att inom varje kategori vinna prispokaler och även prispengar för de högre ålderskategorierna. Pianolärare har möjlighet att få utmärkelser i festivalen genom att sända fler av sina elever till festivalen.

De Unges Konsert – Young Soloists Competition

De Unges Konsert Young Soloists Competition 2019 is now open for applications. We invite young musicians to audition in Bergen.

Since 1938, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra has showcased young talent. This competition has been an important step in the careers of many top musicians such as Henning Kraggerud, Håvard Gimse, Tine Thing Helseth, Truls Mørk, Vilde Frang and Lise Davidsen.

Concert and prizes

A total of five soloists will be selected from the audition round to play as soloists with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra at De Unges Konsert in Grieghallen on Thursday 25 April 2019. The conductor is Cathrine Winnes. The concert will be live-streamed at

We cover all travel and accommodation expenses for soloists. All of the soloists receive a scholarship of NOK 75,000 from the Kavli Trust. The audience will vote for their favourite who will receive the Kavli Trust audience prize of NOK 20,000.

Who can apply?

Instrumentalists born in 1995 or later and singers born in 1992 or later are eligible to apply to audition for De Unges Konsert 2019. Everyone within this age group who is studying music in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, irrespective of nationality, can apply. Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish nationals can apply irrespective of where they are studying.

How to apply?

Auditions for De Unges Konsert will be held in Bergen on Friday 22 February 2019.

To be considered for a place in the audition, you must submit the application form below by Friday 18 January 2019. The application form must contain a link to a video clip on YouTube of the repertoire you wish to perform at the audition and, if you are selected, at De Unges Konsert in April. The repertoire must not be less than 10 minutes and no more than 15 minutes.
The recording must be from 2018 or 2019. It must only be of your repertoire, and it must be unedited. Live recordings and multiple-camera recordings are permitted. Please specify the place and time of the recording. Remember to use the setting ‘unlisted’ and not ‘private’ when you upload the video to YouTube.

Invitations to attend auditions are sent out by 1 February 2019.


Audition date: Friday 22 February 2019 in Grieghallen, Bergen

Up to 15 applicants will be invited to audition after the pre-qualification round. Hotel accommodation in Bergen from 21 to 22 February will be covered for those invited to audition, and they will receive NOK 1,500 towards travel expenses.

The audition repertoire is the same as the concert programme. The duration of the programme must not be less than 10 minutes and no more than 15 minutes.
Musikkselskapet Harmonien will provide an accompanist for the audition. You can use your own pianist if you prefer, but we do not cover their travel and accommodation expenses.
You are allowed to use sheet music at the audition and the concert.

”World championship of performing arts är en internationell tävling som hålls i Long Beach, LA varje år.

Sångare, dansare, musiker, skådespelare och modeller tävlar, både i grupp och solo, framför domare från underhållnings branschen.

Tävlingen börjar med ett Worldstar bootcamp, en heldag fylld av föreläsningar och workshops. Dessa ges exklusivt av experter inom top industrin.

Därefter öppnas hela tävlingen med en öppningsceremoni liknande den i OS. Alla länder går en parad iklädda kläder/kostymer som representerar sitt land.

Under hela tävlingen kommer det finnas en Worldstar ”by” där man kommer njuta av musik, mat och underhållnings event.

Tävlingen är indelad i grundomgång, semifinal och den stora finalen. Finalen sänds live över hela världen!

Domarna i finalen är speciellt utvalda personer inom branschen. Tidigare domare har varit Crista Klayman, ses som nr 1 runway agent för LA models, Pierre Parisien, världsberömd rollsättare, Bob Garret, sång coach till några av de mest respekterade sångarna och skådespelarna i Hollywood, med fler.

Det delas ut guld, silver och brons medaljer i alla åldersgrupper och kategorier. Man kan även vinna stipendier till New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, New York Film Akademy, Millenium Dance Complex, CSM Words and Music och Indasoul Entertainment.

Det finns två divisioner i tävlingen, Juniorer 5-15 år och seniorer 16- uppåt.

Man behöver inte vinna tävlingen för att det ska hända något i din karriär eller dröm. Domarna bor på samma hotell som alla deltagare, vilket gör att man kan bli upptäckt av domarna när som helst. Det kommer även vara en eftermiddag där man få chansen att träffa och prata med olika agenturer och skolor.
