| The deadline for applications to the 2027 London Classic Piano Competition is fast approaching, with aspiring pianists from across the world having just until the 15th of December 2026 to register for this prestigious international event! Taking place from the 2nd to the 4th of April 2027 at London’s Royal College of Music, the competition will bring together 20 selected young pianists to compete before a distinguished seven-member international jury, which will be chaired by the renowned pianist and Artistic Director Michel Béroff (France), and will consist of Dmitri Alexeev (UK), Peter Donohoe (UK), Klaus Hellwig (Germany), Momo Kodama (Japan), Vanessa Latarche (UK), and Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy). Interested applicants are required to submit a video recording for the initial audition phase in which they will need to present one Prelude & Fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier (Book I or II) by Johann Sebastian Bach; two piano Etudes by two different composers; and one composition of their choice. 20 pianists selected from this cohort will then be invited to proceed to the live performances in London, where they will be presenting works from the Baroque all the way up to the contemporary across two rounds at the Royal College. With a €35,000 prize fund at stake, the two highest-ranked participants will also earn invitations to the 2028 Classic Piano International Competition Grand Finale in Barcelona, where €330,000 in prizes will be awarded. “I would strongly encourage young pianists who feel ready for this challenge to apply”, Béroff said. “The London Classic Piano Competition is a wonderful opportunity to perform before an international jury, to demonstrate one’s musical abilities, and potentially to take an important step towards the Grand Finale in Barcelona. I am very much looking forward to discovering some exceptional young talents!”Applications close on December 15th 2026. Interested pianists are encouraged to register at london.classicpiano.eu now to avoid disappointment! Warm regards, Classic Piano Press Office |
