Applications are now open for the French Institute Nordic Award (FINA) 2026! Since 2020, the French Institutes in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have jointly awarded the FINA Prize to outstanding young researchers from the Nordic region, supporting scientific cooperation between the Nordic countries and France.

For the 2026 edition, the award focuses on a topic of growing global importance: the Arctic.

Consortia of four early-career researchers — one based in the Kingdom of Denmark (Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands), Finland, Norway and Sweden respectively — are invited to apply for the opportunity to develop or strengthen collaborations with French research institutions through a dedicated mobility programme in France. All disciplines contributing to Arctic research are eligible, including natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

The selected consortium will receive mobility grants from the French Institutes in each Nordic country and benefit from support in establishing contacts and developing their programme in France.
