Applications are now open for three exceptional 2027 music residencies at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. We would greatly appreciate your support in sharing these opportunities with your communities, networks, students, artists, and collaborators.

These residencies bring together musicians, composers, singers, songwriters, ensembles, and interdisciplinary creators for immersive artistic development in the Canadian Rockies.

Featured programs include:

• Banff Musicians in Residence 2027
  Program Dates January 11 – 29, 2027
  A self-directed residency supporting musicians and ensembles across all genres to create, collaborate, experiment, and develop new work in a dedicated artistic environment. 2027 faculty include acclaimed artists Basia Bulat, Luca Fogale, Reid Anderson (The Bad Plus), and JUNO Award-winning ensemble collectif9.

• Mawacihitowin Indigenous Music Residency
  Program Dates Nov 16, 2026 – Dec 04, 2026
  An Indigenous-led residency centering Indigenous musicians, singers, songwriters, composers, and creators through cultural connection, artistic exploration, collaboration, and community.

*This program is for Indigenous Artists and is fully funded.

• Soundweavings 2027

Program Dates March 1 – 20, 2027
An intercultural residency bringing together artists from diverse musical traditions and contemporary practices to explore collaborative creation and innovative performance-making.

Application Deadline September 30, 2026

Across all programs, participants receive access to studio space, mentorship, artistic community, performance opportunities, and Banff Centre’s world-class facilities and campus environment. Standard scholarships are applied.
