This week is the last call for applications for the next edition of Le Jardin des Voix, the international academy for young singers founded by Les Arts Florissants – William Christie.
The deadline for applying has been extended to December 17th (included).
To mark William Christie’s 80th birthday, the laureates will be invited to prepare two programmes:
– A lyrical programme of French music, bringing together two short operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier: Les Arts Florissans – from which the ensemble takes its name – and La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfers.
– A programme of Italian sacred music, with Alessandro Scarlatti’s oratorio Il giardino di rose.
