We are very happy to announce the opening of the applications for the 2nd Nordic Junior Piano Competition. The Nordic Piano Competition has been organised since 2002 in order to promote piano culture in the Nordic countries. After the success of the inaugural Nordic Junior Piano Competition in 2019, we are delighted to launch the 2nd edition of this event, dedicated to supporting young pianists from 11 to 19 years old. Open to Nordic Citizens and residents in Nordic Countries.

Great Hall of Ingesund School of Music, Arvika, Sweden at 29-30 April 2023

Video pre-selection results: 1 April 2023

Category 1: Rising Stars (Age 11-15)
Category 2: Young Artists (Age 15-19)
Candidates aged 15 may choose to compete in either Category 1 or 2
Repertoire (2 rounds: video pre-selection and the Finals at Ingesund School of Music)
Video pre-selection repertoire:
1. One work of virtuoso character (e.g. etude or toccata)
2. One work of free choice, 5-10 min.
Max. 12 pianists will be admitted to the FINALS (live, in-person) in each category
Repertoire for the FINAL ROUND:
Category 1: Max 20 min. free repertoire (including one work of virtuoso character)
Category 2: Max. 25 min. free repertoire (including one work of virtuoso character)
Prizes in each category: 1st Prize in Nordic Junior Piano Competition- 5000 SEK, Diploma and Trophy 2nd Prize in Nordic Junior Piano Competition- 3000 SEK, Diploma and Trophy 3rd Prize in Nordic Junior Piano Competition- 1000 SEK, Diploma and Trophy Each Finalist will receive a Finalist Diploma and Finalist Trophy.
Each TEACHER of any Finalist will receive an Excellency Diploma Award.
Each Video Submission for the preselection round will receive Jury feedback and Participation Diploma.

Application fee:
Category 1: 80 Euros
Category 2: 100 Euros
Preselection jury and the international jury for the Final Round will be appointed by the organization committee and announced shortly.
