Information

Vadstena-Akademien invites applications from young classical singers of all voice categories for the summer of 2019 & 2020. In 2019 we will produce an opera by Georg Philipp Telemann and in 2020 we will produce a new opera in Swedish by composer Tebogo Monnakgotla and librettist Kerstin Perski.

To apply you should have already begun an advanced course of study in voice,
or have equivalent experience, and be born 1984 or later.

Preparation

The jury would like you to prepare a total of 2-3 arias depending of which
production/productions you audition for: ​

1. One aria and recitativo by Telemann from the arias chosen by Vadstena Akademien.
   The music material will be delivered from Vadstena-Akademien when you are accepted to an audition.

• Voice categories: Soprano(s), mezzo/counter, tenor, baritone, bass.

• Soloists and chorus.

• Harpsichord a1=415 Hz

1. An aria of your own choice preferably from the baroque or classic repertoire

• Piano a1=442 Hz

1. If you apply for the opera in 2020 you should also prepare an aria from the modern repertoire, in Swedish.

• Piano a1=442 Hz

You will receive an e-mail when you have been accepted with all necessary information.

Vadstena-Akademien makes available a pianist and harpsichordist for the audition day.
