International Edvard Grieg Competition for Composers 2017 – piano pieces for young performers.
The 2017 competition – The 20th International Edvard Grieg Competition for Composers – is for piano solo. Oslo Grieg Society invites composers from all over the world to write 3 or 4 piano pieces with a total playing time: 7 – 10 minutes.
Degree of difficulty: intended in a level for children and youth should be like a difficulty as Griegs Lyric pieces op. 12
Latest day of sending the score is May the 1st 2017. There is no registration form.

Send the score as a pdf file by e-mail to: composercompetition@oslogriegsociety.com
The pdf score should include a short comment on your composition. Important: To ensure your anonymity to the jury, please make sure that your pdf score is NOT marked with your name but with a motto.

In the same e-mail, please provide the following information (which will not be available to the jury): your contact information (name, address, e-mail, phone) and a photo of yourself a short description of your life, studies and works.
A non refundable fee of EURO 60,- must be paid in your bank before we accept your contribution. No checks please.

Winners Three or more finalist works will be performed at The Oslo Grieg Festival in June 2017. The winning composer will be awarded 1st prize NOK 10.000,
2nd prize NOK 5000, 3rd prize NOK 2000.
