World Jewish Philharmonic – Invitation for students

We invite students and graduates to take part in a unique international project – the World Jewish Philharmonic International Orchestral Workshops, which will take place from June 14 to 20, 2025, in Wrocław, Poland.

The workshops will culminate in a final concert on June 19, held at the prestigious National Forum of Music, conducted by Maestro Gergely Madaras, Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège.

The international faculty includes outstanding musicians:

·  Prof. Tomasz Tomaszewski (Deutsche Oper Berlin, Universität der Künste Berlin)

·  Piotr Prysiażnik (Deutsche Oper Berlin)

·  Prof. Zvi Carmeli (Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance)

·  Marlena Grodzicka-Myślak (NFM Wrocław Philharmonic)

·  Noa Chorin (Israel Chamber Orchestra, West Eastern Divan Orchestra)

·  Meirav Kadichevski (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, West-Eastern Divan Orchestra)

·  Jan Krzeszowiec (National Forum of Music, Wrocław, Poland)

·  David Lyndon Smith (Principal Trumpet, Singapore Symphony Orchestra)

·  Prof. Zbigniew Monkiewicz (Philharmonie der Nationen, Würth Philharmoniker)

The final concert will feature world-renowned soloists:

·  Aleksandra Kurzak – soprano

·  Guy Braunstein – violin

·  Giora Feidman – clarinet

·  Avi Avital – mandolin

Participation in the workshops is free of charge – the organizers will cover the costs of accommodation (at Ibis Styles Wrocław Centrum), full board, and provide necessary instruments (including double basses, percussion, tuba).

Participants are only required to cover their travel expenses. Participation in the free workshops is made possible thanks to funding from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, provided through the Culture Promotion Fund – a state special-purpose fund.

The workshops are open to individuals who:

·         are 18 years or older (as of June 14, 2025),

·         are of Jewish origin,

·         are students or graduates of music academies or art institutions.

The application deadline is May 17, 2025. The application requires submitting a completed form and a video recording. Detailed information is available

About the organizer:

The program is organized by the Social and Cultural Association of Jews in Poland. It is part of the Artistic Education Program of the Polish Presidency of the European Union 2025, co- financed by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund – a state earmarked fund.
