Welcome to an international masterclass at Djursholms castle.
The courses are held in the castle´s unique 16th century setting
and in the beautiful Djursholms chapel. Feel the breath of history
in the Banérsalen and in milieux where Alice Tegnér, Viktor
Rydberg, Nathanael and Elsa Beskow were active.

The masterclass will run from 10th to 15th August 2025. The operasingers, Stefan
Dahlberg tenor and Hans-Peter König bass, will be teaching and share their experiences
and achievements from their long singing careers. Stefan Johansson director, theater
manager and dramaturg will offer you a theatrical perspective of your repertoire and advise
you of noteworthy opera recordings.
At the piano, Stefan Lindgren – consert pianist, composer and pianist at the Royal
Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Christine Morgan – répétiteur at the Opera Academy
and the Royal Opera in Stockholm and Tobias Livheim – newly qualified répétiteur from the
Opera Academy in Stockholm, will accompany you in your repertoire.
The courses will include daily lessons in masterclass format with individual feedback. We will
discuss the prerequisites for a long career as an opera singer. We meet at 3pm on the 10th
of august in Djursholm’s chapel with singing and mingling. We will offer light refreshment
and “Swedish fika”. You will sing in a concert in Djursholms chapel and at the closing
concert in Djursholms Castle. Both events will be open to the general public.

Target group: In order to be accepted on the course you will need prior experience. We
invite you who are a student at an opera or a music academy with intention of pursuing a
singing career, or you who are already active in the singing profession. NB maximum 12
active participants. If you wish to be a passive participant that can be arranged after lunch
daily between 2pm and 6pm.

Preparation: 4 opera arias and 2 romances, all of different character. Please tell us
beforehand with your application which arias and romances you are preparing.

Price with lodging: SEK11,500 including registration fee, breakfast, lunch, ”fika”, single
room lodging and closing dinner on Friday. Lodging in the monastery of Birgitta in
Djursholm.
Price without lodging: SEK9,500 including registration fee, lunch, “fika” and closing dinner
on Friday.

Registration fee per accepted masterclass student SEK1500.
Paid before 10th June. Non refundable. Remaining fee final day of payment 8th August.
Passive participant: Fee SEK200 per day or SEK900 for the whole course.
Teaching in Swedish, English and German.
