| Dear colleagues: We are pleased to announce that the 18th “Pablo Sorozabal” International String Quartet Composition Competition, organized by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa in collaboration with our association, Musikagileak, is now open. This competition seeks to promote original musical creation for string quartet, offering a unique platform for emerging composers. Summary of the rules: Participants: Composers of any nationality born on or after January 1, 1989. Works: Original compositions, unpublished and not previously awarded, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes. Free style and technique. Prize: A single prize of 3,000 euros net, with a diploma. The winning work will be premiered by the Quatour Béla in the Quincena Musical de San Sebastian and programmed in the XVII Circuit of Contemporary Music “Musikagileak” (year 2026).
