Britten Pears Young Artist Programme 24-25

The applications for the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme 2024-25 are now open. Founded in 1972 by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, the BPYAP continues to offer early career musicians the opportunity to access high-level tuition through our series of specialised courses.

Some key points

  • All our courses are open for worldwide application, to early career young artists aged 18 or over that have either graduated from formal training or are finishing their education. There is no upper age limit.
  • We have opportunities for singers, pianists, chamber ensembles, instrumentalists, composers & an assistant conductor.
  • We don’t charge course fees, and cover the cost of international & UK travel, local accommodation and provide most meals.
  • There is no fee to apply and all applicants receive feedback regardless of outcome.
  • This years’ courses are led by an array of internationally renowned artists including Véronique Gens, James Baillieu, Colin Matthews, Isabel Charisius, Claire Booth & Susan Manoff to name a few.
  • All our courses take place at our creative campus, Snape Maltings, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in rural Suffolk in the UK.

French Song & Mélodie │ 19 – 24 August 2024 │ Open to singers & collaborative pianists

Composition & Performance │ 14 – 22 September 2024 │ Open to composers, instrumentalists, singers, pianists & an assistant conductor

Chamber Music in Residence │ January – April 2025 │ Open to chamber ensembles of any instrumentation

Chamber Music Plus │ 24 March – 4 April 2025 │ Open to chamber ensembles of strings or strings & piano
