Piano Cleveland is reserving spots for promising pianists from diverse backgrounds, as well as those from countries that have not been recently represented in the Competition.

Sixteen pianists will advance to Cleveland for the final rounds from July 28 – August 10. The top four medalists will be awarded over $100,000 in prize money as well as the opportunity to perform with The Cleveland Orchestra as part of the Concerto Finals in Severance Music Center. Each of the advancing sixteen pianists will be eligible for unique prize packages such as residences at northeastern Ohio universities, mentorship opportunities with leading pianists, and short courses in personal branding and marketing. These awards will set them up for future success as leaders in their field.

In 2024 the Cleveland International Piano Competition will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The competition has been restructured to award young pianists with opportunities for artistic development. Throughout the competition, contestants will have the chance to showcase their personal artistic vision with unique program requirements that challenge pianists to examine how they present themselves as artists to both the jury and the public. Between fifty and sixty pianists will be invited to perform in the First Round of the competition, which will be held in Cleveland and Paris in March of 2024.
