From February 25th – March 1st, 2024, the 30th annual Young Composers Meeting will take place in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, organised by Orkest De Ereprijs.

The Young Composers Meeting allows young composers to develop their talents by writing a piece for the orchestra de ereprijs. Works by fourteen selected candidates will be rehearsed and performed. Under the supervision of senior composers Martijn Padding, Richard Ayres, Calliope Tsoupaki and Ed Bennett the participants will be involved in clinics, lectures and excursions. This is the perfect opportunity for young composers to gain experience and knowledge, as well as to build a relevant network within their field.

The senior composers will appoint four winners from among the participants, each of whom will receive a commission. New this year is the Apeldoorn-commission ( € 1.500,-), in honor of the 30th edition of the YCM. The winner of the commission writes a new work for Orkest De Ereprijs to be performed during the opening concert of the next YCM edition.
